In Lieu Of Original Thoughts

A chase scene from the 2004 French action film Banlieue 13 featuring the art of parkour, an activity with the aim of moving from one point to another as quickly and efficiently as possible, using principally the abilities of the human body. It first gained popularity in Parisian suburbs and was also featured in the opening sequence of the last James Bond vehicle, Casino Royale. The traceur is David Belle, the original founder of the discipline. Every one of the stunts he performs in this clip are done without the use of wires or computer-generated effects. Frenchy can fly:

Parkour is pretty awesome stuff. I didn't know he was the founder. I watched some of his clips on youtube, though I think I still might like Sebastien Foucan a little bit better.

I found out about this sport a few years ago but at the time I thought that it had originated in Eastern Europe because all the videos I saw contained buildings and parks that looked like rundown Soviet-era architecture. I'm not as familiar with Foucan but I did read something about him when I was researching for the post.
